The Scion Thrash & Jam event is run by Baltimore-based Corrigan Sports Enterprises, which was established in 1991 * with the goal of "creating, managing and implementing sports and event marketing opportunities for the corporate community".

Tony Hawk was ranked the No.1 vertical skateboarder in the world by the National Skateboard Association 12 consecutive years from 1984 to 1996 * and is undisputably the most dominant figure in skateboarding. He officially retired from competition in 1999 * at the age of 31 after winning 12 World Championships and 13 X-Games medals. In 103 professional contests, Hawk won 73 and placed second in 19. One of the most recognizable figures in any sport, Hawk was named “Favorite Male Athlete of the Year” (over Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neal and Tiger Woods) at the Nickelodean Kids’ Choice Awards and Fox’s Teen Choice Awards. In 2001 *, he received the first-ever ESPN * Action Sports Achievement Award for his unparalleled accomplishments in skateboarding as well as a Lifetime Achievement Award at the NEA International Awards. (Hawk will be performing on Saturday, July 17 ONLY)

Baltimore native Bucky Lasek, considered by some to be the top vertical skater in the world today, has won six gold medals in X-Games and Gravity Games competition since 1999, including first-place at Global X in 2003 *. Lasek became the first skateboarder ever in the history of the X-Games to win gold medals in consecutive years (’99 & ’00). In 2004 *, he has already placed first at the Slam City XI and the first two legs of the Vans Triple Crown * events. (Lasek will be performing on Sunday, July 18 ONLY)
