LEGO, Electronic Arts ship Island Xtreme Stunts
(Posted 12/8/2002)

(By Josh Rabinowitz for SkateboardDirectory.com)

LEGO * Interactive and Electronic arts * have teamed up with UK *-based Silicon Dreams to create Island Xtreme Stunts, a video game aimed at younger players of Game Boy Advance, Playstation2, and home computer systems.

The game features the ability for players to play the role of Pepper Roni and fly, drive, jetski, motorobike and of course skateboard across the game's scenarios, which include a skateboard park. Skateboard abilities in the game include "eight grabs plus spins and grinds".

As in real life, terrain can be explored via foot, skateboard, or any of the other vehicles at the player's disposal. Communicating with "Islanders" in the game lead to over 20 quests to challenge and entertain. The game also includes a novel 'toying' feature which allows the ability to change objects in LEGO Island.

Four of the mini-games support a multiplayer mode, two of those accommodating up to four players. Retail prices are projected to be in the $20-$40 range.
