LONG BEACH, CA (March 11, 2002 *) -- Retailers, manufacturers, consumers and
enthusiasts of extreme action sports will converge at the Long Beach
Convention Center during the first-ever Extreme Action Sports Show held June
21-23, 2002. Sponsored by AT&T Wireless, EAS is designed to bridge the gap
between merchandisers and consumers and will serve as a forum for
communication, education and demonstration.
"This will be the largest consumer show of its kind," said Darren Roberts,
president of Extreme Action Sports of America, the show’s producer. "Never
before have so many vendors and consumers from so many exciting sports
convened under one roof."
EAS will feature a wide variety of sports, including such popular activities
as snowboarding, surfing and mountain biking, along with newer sports such
as street luge and bungee jumping. With over 224,000 square feet of indoor
and outdoor exhibit space, the show will include hundreds of exhibitors,
open-air demonstrations, entertainment venues, and food and beverage
service. The show floor has been broken down into four major groups: city
sports, snow sports, mountain sports and water sports.
"Our goal is to make the show as entertaining as it is educational," Roberts
said. "There will be plenty of opportunities to get great deals, check out
new products and meet top athletes. It’s a great time to get excited about
your sport, or even to discover a new sport."
With more than 50,000 consumers expected to attend the three-day event, the
show is an excellent marketing opportunity for manufacturers and retailers.
"EAS will provide one-on-one interaction between merchandisers and
consumers," said Director of Marketing Karen LuKanic. "It’s a great way to
learn what your customers are thinking, what they want, and what they like.
It’s market research, promotion, and retailing all rolled into one."
As a sponsor, AT&T Wireless will highlight some of the wireless technology
that will change the way we live and work. "We are committed to providing
customized quality services that will improve the lives of people without
limits and boundaries," said Dave Haight, vice president and general
manager, Los Angeles *.
Exhibitors will have various booth sizes to choose from, and there are
numerous sponsorship opportunities available as well. "Whether you’re a
national retailer or a local, specialized manufacturer," LuKanic said, "EAS
provides a unique opportunity to meet and communicate with the most
important people in your business – your customers."
