To whom it may concern,
I am writing to let you know that Stoke Newington Festival is intending to produce its second annual Skate Event as part of a larger Festival for Youth Culture.
After the huge success and media coverage of last years skate festival which included display teams, professional competitions and a street course for public use, we have decided to link up with the rest of the skate calendar and confer with the surrounding industry before finalising a date and which teams and sponsors will be involved in this years event due to be held in a North London * Location some time in June.
Stoke Newington Festival started in 1993 * and has grown into an annual event that runs throughout the month of June and in terms of London Festivals, is only second to Notting Hill in size. Well known for its varied artists commissions, staging of street theatre, multi-media and installation art, the festival prides its self in providing a platform for new art and music produced in interesting places.
This years Festival will include a day dedicated to Youth Culture (for those young in mind not just body!). This will include a more developed Skate element * as already mentioned as well as including, a Main bands stage, graffiti demonstrations and exhibitions of Urban Art, possible snow boarding demonstrations (dependant on location), Digital Art and VJ-jam displays as well as a varied program of workshops to give people introductory tasters.
Time is in the essence, but if you wish to get involved, give suggestions or simply be kept in the loop, please contact Simon Myers (Production Producer) on 0208 356 2088 or by post at the Stoke Newington Festival Office, Old Town Hall, N16 OJR.
Kind Regards, Simon Myers Search this site for more about Stoke Newington Festival Skate Event Being... * |
